DATA Centres
The DATA centre in question has over 3000m2 of co-location area. The original ventilation design created uneven air distribution from the floor void. This resulted in localised hot spots which increased overall cooling demand and hence wasted significant energy. By determining the air flow paths, it was apparent where sub floor recirculation currents stifled air supply. This meant remedial efforts could be better engineered to improve air distribution, reducing temperature variations.
